WEDDING AT The Byre at Inchyra
As a wedding photographer, each wedding brings its own unique charm, each couple put their own personal stamp to their wedding day which means I always get excited on the drive to the venue. Gillian and Craig's wedding at the picturesque Byre at Inchyra was no exception. From the rustic elegance of the venue to the heartfelt moments shared between the couple, it was a day filled with love, laughter, and a touch of Scottish magic. I thoroughly enjoy the drive up to Perthshire, all seasons it’s beautiful from the warm tones of autumn to the long summers evenings. With a plan for an outdoor ceremony in the stunning walled garden to dancing under the fairylights in the barn, it was my dream kind of wedding day to photograph.
Scottish rustic barn wedding venue
Nestled amidst the rolling hills of Perthshire, the Byre at Inchyra is a hidden gem steeped in history and rustic beauty. With its weathered stone walled garden which is a dream to say your wedding vows in, the cosy fairylights floating in the barn, and enchanting courtyard, it provided the perfect backdrop for Gillian and Craig's special day.
Growing Love: Gillian's Handcrafted Blooms
One of the most beautiful aspects of Gillian and Craig's wedding was Gillian's passion for gardening. She lovingly grew all the flowers for their special day, infusing each bloom with her care and attention. As I captured images of her delicate bouquet and the floral arrangements adorning the venue, it was evident the work and passion she had for creating the soft colour pallette for her day.
A Rustic Barn Wedding Venue With Soul
The Byre at Inchyra is a lovingly restored cattle byre transformed into a warm, enchanting wedding barn. What makes it so special is that it hasn’t lost any of its original character , the stone walls, timber beams and twinkling lights create a setting that feels both cosy and grand. It’s rustic, but elegant. Historic, but modern enough to be comfortable for every guest.
For photography, this is a dream. The textures, the warm tones and the soft pockets of natural light make every moment feel intimate and romantic.
Rainy Blessings: Vows in the Barn
Despite Gillian's dream of an outdoor ceremony, the Scottish weather had other plans. However, true to their resilient spirits, Gillian and Craig embraced the rain and took shelter in the barn adorned with twinkling fairy lights and floating candles. As they exchanged vows surrounded by their loved ones, it felt as though the raindrops were blessings from above as the barn made for such a romantic and intimate setting.
As a dog lover myself, I couldn't help but smile when I saw Gillian and Craig's furry companion joining them for family photos.
Just in time for their couple photoshoot, the sun came out and came out long enough for us to explore the stunning walled garden. My favourite part of being a wedding photographer is the couple photos as its when I see couple really relax with each other and the smiles dont stop as the realization that they are married sink in. We were spoilt for places to take photographs in the stunning Byre at Inchrya on their wedding day. And that golden light! This is why I love being a Byre at Inchyra wedding photographer.
The Walled Garden , A Fairytale Ceremony Space
One of my favourite places on the entire estate is the Walled Garden. It’s perfect for outdoor ceremonies, drinks receptions or simply wandering for couple portraits. The soft greenery, the old stonework, and the way the light filters through the trees give it a storybook feel.
Every season brings something different , blooming florals in spring, lush greens in summer, golden leaves in autumn, and beautiful moody tones in winter.
