Hybrid Wedding Photographer + Filmmaker Scotland

6 minute highlight video.

Why Booking Me for Hybrid Photo & Video Is the Best Idea Ever!

Okay, hear me out , if you’re dreaming of a wedding day that’s captured beautifully, naturally, and with zero extra faff… hybrid coverage might just be your new best friend.

I’ve been photographing weddings for over 15 years, and adding video into the mix has become one of the most exciting parts of what I do. Couples love it because it’s simple, seamless and still feels totally relaxed and the best bit is you only have one person documenting the whole story, start to finish.

Subtle & relaxed.

One Person, One Vision, One Beautiful Story

When you book me for both photo and video, everything is captured in the same style: natural, documentary-led, warm, romantic and real. No clashing styles, no two people competing for the same moment, no awkwardness, just a smooth flow to your day.

You get your photos and a gorgeous little highlight film. It’s the perfect way to relive the moments that photos can’t quite capture on their own, your voices, the movement, the laughter, that wee squeeze of the hand before the ceremony, all the good stuff.

Loved Ones in Motion

Photos are amazing, but video? Video brings your loved ones to life. Their laughter, the way they dance, the speech that made everyone cry , these are the moments you can actually hear and feel again and again. Years down the line, having that little film of family and friends is pure gold.

I got married over 15 years ago and wavered about getting a video, but int he end decided to and it was the best decision. My dad and grandparents are now no longer with us and getting to see them on video, hear voices just means so much to me, I have watched that dvd so many times and its probably one of my most treasured possessions from our wedding.

Key points

£800 - 5 minute Highlight Video

-I will already be photographing your wedding - So no extra person nor equipment, totally discreet & no messy tripods hanging about on the day.

-I am getting the best angles, creative shots & I am already close to the action – so I can get a mix of both all day.

-I do not film whole ceremony or speeches, just little snippets of the day. If you are after FULL audio / video of these moments that is when it is best to get a videographer on board - I have some of my favs listed here on my website.

- I don’t bring along any extra equipment, no gimbals or tripods, just my two cameras to keep it as subtle as possible so you probably won’t realise I am filming. Depending on weather and location my drone joins me too. Me and my drone have a love/hate relationship. As soon as I send it up it just vanishes off and I swear it does its own thing laughing at me sweating on the ground as it disappears into the distance.

What is hybrid wedding photography?

Hybrid coverage means you get both photos and video of your wedding day , all captured by me, with photography still the priority. Alongside your images, I’ll film short clips to capture movement, emotion, and those little interactions that photos alone can’t quite show.

I focus on filming the quieter, in-between moments. I dont promise to capture certain moments on video, I go with the day and capture what I think will work without limiting your photos. I also capture candid moments, the atmosphere, and the details of your celebration , so when you watch your film in the years to come, it’s not just what your day looked like, but how it felt to be there. I dont promise to capture certain moments on video, I go with the day and capture what I think will work without limiting your photos.

All your clips are then edited into a short, unique highlight film set to music.

How is hybrid wedding photography different than hiring a wedding videographer?

So, what’s the difference between hybrid coverage and hiring a separate videographer?

With hybrid, it’s just me capturing both your photos and video in the same style, the same flow, and without any extra crew getting in the way. Your photos stay the priority, but the video adds movement, emotion, and all the little moments that photos alone can’t capture.

First of all, I create short, 6 minute highlight wedding films. I don’t create full length feature wedding films. I don’t record any part of the day in its entirety, just rather small snapshots from parts of the day. I don’t film the full ceremony or speeches, and I don’t guarantee capturing any specifics on film: as noted above your film is secondary to your photos

If you are looking for a full day coverage then I highly recommend having a videographer, some of my favourites are listed below. I have had the pleasure of working with them and they help make the day flow seamlessly and are brilliant at their jobs and we work smoothly as a team together.
